Canvas for a CURE was designed to raise money for C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association.  Rather than simply raising money for the organization, student leaders decided that they wanted to be able to give a gift to the children suffering from cancer or blood related disorders a gift to always brighten their day and let them know someone was thinking of them. This is not only beneficial to the community but rewarding to those who participate. We welcome anyone who would like to join our event with open arms and appreciate the support.

According to the National Cancer Institute:

  • 10,380 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed among children from birth to 14 years in 2015 alone (about 10% will die)

According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization:

  • About 15,780 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 19 each year

  • 83.5% will experience some level of financial hardship.

  • 75.7% will have at least one parent who needs to cut back or stop working

  • 67.3% have health insurance through the parent’s employer (canceled or changed if the parent has to quit their job)

  • 11.9% will spend more than $10,000 annually to care for their child
